Santa Claus
is Coming to Town

Santa Arrives 5:30pm
For over 90 years, Santa has been arriving in Woodstock on Christmas Eve, each time in a new and wonderful way. The Village Green is transformed into a holiday postcard scene. A huge Christmas tree is decorated with hundreds of lights, music fills the air, and Santa hands out stockings to every child.
In the weeks leading up to the event, dozens of volunteers create Santa’s mysterious entrance. Holiday boxes of food are packed and delivered to those in need. Cheer bags are assembled and delivered to those who are elderly, alone, or in need of some extra Season’s Greetings. Stockings are filled by local elves.
This Christmas program is entirely funded by your generous donations. Please make a contribution to our longtime Woodstock Holiday event. Santa Claus needs more than “milk and cookies” to keep this tradition afloat.

The Historical Society of Woodstock takes you back to the very first Christmas Eve celebration on the Green in 1932. The story also includes illustrations from John Pike’s Collier Magazine series in early 1950s. Happy Holidays to All!
